Different laptops have different requirements and some older printers are no supported by Windows 10.
Some laptops connect via Wi-Fi and some connect via a USB cable.
If you have a USB cable, simply plug this in to the laptop and the printer should install itself with approximately 30 seconds.
If you have a Wi-Fi HP printer, you'll need to install the HP Print application from the Windows Store using this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/hp-smart/9wzdncrfhwlh?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
